Spotify to YouTube

Turns a Spotify playlist into a YouTube playlist, one matched track at a time.

This is a personal tool. You run it on your own computer, point it at one of your own Spotify playlists, and it builds the matching playlist on your own YouTube channel. There is no hosted service and no account to sign up for — this page exists to describe what the tool does and where its privacy notice lives.

What it does

Reads the tracks in a Spotify playlist you own.
Searches YouTube for each one and scores the results on title, artist and length, so covers, live versions and hour-long loops do not quietly end up in the playlist.
Adds the confident matches, and asks you about anything it is unsure of.
Creates a new YouTube playlist, or adds to one you already have — skipping songs already in it.

What it can see

You sign in to Spotify and to YouTube yourself, and each one asks your permission first. Spotify access is read only: the tool can read your playlists and cannot change anything. YouTube access is used to create playlists and add videos to them, on your own channel.

Everything it reads or writes stays on the computer you run it on. Nothing is collected, sent elsewhere, or shared with anyone. The full details are in the privacy notice.

Daily limits

YouTube rations API use, and a single search is expensive. The tool budgets against that allowance, stops cleanly when it runs out, and carries on the next day — and it remembers every match permanently, so no song is ever searched for twice.

Its use of YouTube API Services

This tool uses YouTube API Services. Using it means agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, and you can withdraw the tool's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
